COVID-19: Updates, Information & Resources

Coronavirus (COVID-19) has affected the life of nearly every person on the globe in one way or another. While the top priority is the health and well-being of our families and loved ones, our communities, and, ultimately, all of humanity, no doubt some have wondered how the COVID-19 pandemic will impact summer vacation plans, weekend getaways, national park road trips, or other travel adventures.

We at Visit USA Parks understand how persistent the travel itch can be, but we urge you to be responsible travelers. And, right now, that might mean NOT traveling to some places. While it might seem like a good time to get away from crowds by escaping to our beautiful national parks, outdoor destinations, or favorite small towns, we hope that you’ll take to heart the requests of some of these places to keep loving them, but from a distance for now.  These places will be waiting for us when it’s responsible for us to visit them again.

We encourage everyone to heed the orders of federal, state, and local governments as well as the recommendations from public health departments and officials. Our support is with all the organizations and businesses that have made difficult decisions in order to do their part in stopping the spread of COVID-19.

After all of this, hopefully we have an even deeper appreciation for travel and how it enriches our lives. Visit USA Parks will continue to provide inspirational travel content, and we invite you to join us in dreaming about awesome travel adventures, even if we can’t go everywhere we’d like to right now.

Remember, we’re all in this together!

National Park Closures & Updates

While national parks are starting to re-open, most of them have modified operations and services. Many national park visitor centers, campgrounds, and lodging and dining establishments remain closed.

To check the status of a specific national park, click on its link below or see the National Park Service website for the latest updates.
