Cabazon Dinosaurs

Situated just off Interstate 10 heading west into Riverside, California, the world’s biggest dinosaurs await your arrival! Originally created to drive traffic to a nearby restaurant, today Mr. Rex and Dinny the Dinosaur (65 feet tall and 150 feet long, respectively) invite you to take a break from your travels with a museum and a gift shop. You’ll even have the chance to climb up inside Mr. Rex all the way to his mouth! Planning a road trip through southern California? Jimmy Carter Peanut Statue

Do miles of the same open road make you hungry for an unusual sight? If so, stop by the Jimmy Carter Peanut of Plains Statue in Plains, Georgia. It’s located right off Interstate 280 and Highway 45, and hearkens back to the former American president’s peanut-farming days. It’s sure to make you smile!

Superman Statue

Metropolis, Illinois, just off Interstate 24 in the southern part of the state, boasts an iconic 15-foot bronze Superman statue in one of its main squares. As the official home of Superman, the town even hosts an annual summer Superman celebration — definitely worth checking out if you’re a fan of the comic book hero!

Giant Buffalo

Hunting for a good time? Check out the world’s largest buffalo sculpture in Jamestown, North Dakota, at the Frontier Village. At 26 feet tall and 46 feet tall, this buffalo will make quite an impression in your road trip memories! While in North Dakota, be sure to make a stop in Medora. You’ll find plenty of things to do there – you may even see some real live buffalo!

Paul Bunyan and Babe The Blue Ox

In Bemidji, Minnesota, you’ll find these two statues – testaments to the legendary American lumberjack, Paul Bunyan, and his four-footed companion. Unveiled in 1937 to help bring tourism back to the town of Bemidji during the Great Depression, they continue to be popular today – especially among road trip travelers looking for a place to stop and rest for a while.
