Ready for a change of pace and a change of scenery, my gal pals and I scanned maps in search of a road trip to an off-the-beaten-path destination. We landed on the idea to visit Flaming Gorge, a massive reservoir straddling the Utah and Wyoming border. The sapphire blue lake is surrounded by towering red cliffs, and we knew with the sheer size alone we’d find some quiet up there. We were right.
